Students in 6th Grade Science have been learning about the three types of rocks, and how rocks form and change during the rock cycle. They also learned about the uses of rocks and minerals, and how valuable rocks and minerals are mined. Students performed the Chocolate Chip Cookie Mining Lab in which they created a mining company, purchased land and mining equipment, and mined for valuable chocolate chips. They also learned about returning their land to good condition after the mining project is completed.
